more Goth girls

You love those faces don't ya?? Come on they grow on you....
I have so much fun with these Stampotique Original designs. I suppose a simple B&W would do, but they need a little punch of color sometimes!
The 1st image is Moth Girl, and the 2nd is Prom Queen.
The sayings are from Silvercrow Creations (top), and Time 2 Stamp (bottom).

Prayer flag or is it a banner ?

The Artist Of the Month theme over at CC Swaps was Stamp Zia. I was so pumped! I have many stamps and have been lucky enough to have taken a class with Zana, and met her about 10 years ago. So this goes to Sweet Pea and I hope she likes it!

New stamp adventures

So I just couldn't resist! GOTHIC GAL stamps over at Stamp Diva! I know there wood mount, but the images are just so FN fun! I haven't had a ton of time, but whipped this one up with Craft GIRL and SEW images from Lisa's Altered Art! I call this "I SEW WISH"...
More to come.....

August Already?

Today it's 20 days before school starts. Sorry Teachers, but as a parent, it's a time I look forward to! I can create without being interrupted.

I actually have been getting into the grove after the computer debacle. The new one is lightening fast, and with a 22" monitor I can 'see it all'!

So here's some ATC's I'm working on for a swap at Red Lead. It's a Holiday ATC swap. We're to cre8 8 ATCs in a Halloween, Christmas, Valentine and or Easter theme. The rules were specific (wish I would have read them :O... ). We were to use specific collage sheets. I muffed my order, so only ended up getting 1 of the HAD TO USE sheets & it was Christmas. I got a couple Halloween (NOT the ones I was suppose to) and 1 b&w with people images. Thought that would cover me for the ol mix/match. Well how challenging it's been to use the Christmas sheets with other images for those other holidays! It's been really fun, and I'm happy with how they turned out. I have a few more layed out & need time to pull them together. I have other ATC's I'm very behind on, and NEED to get done.

More Jewls....

So after the Bead Button Show, which is always fab and I've only been to twice, I loaded the dinning room table with all my beads, sorted regrouped, inventoried & purged. THEN I could begin creating! I've always loved beads. I'm not a complicated beader. While I appreciate all the different findings and styles, I just do my own thing. So inspired by a very VERY kewl necklace I bought from Susan Lenart Kazmer, I went NUTS....

Some of these treasures are going to be gifts, some are just going to HAVE to be sold! I have more beading coming! And I always enjoy encorporating it into paper art!

Chotski Pin

Over at Red Lead (http://www.redleadpaperworks.com/) group they are having a Chotski pin swap! I was allllllllll over this. Right away I made 2 from pins I found, from another source until my OFFICIAL 5 jump ring Chotski's came! But I LOVED making these. So I'm sharing the 1st 2 I made, with many more to come. Sounds like a good Red Rubber Workshop dosn't it????

PC Maintenance….

Have you ever been without your PC? Ours took a hit and fried the motherboard a couple weeks ago. The good news, the hard-drive didn't get hit. The bad news, it was making some noises… So we decided to bite the bullet, and order an new system. A friend of ours has a business, where one of the services is hardware support. My husband is in Tool and Die, and is a CNC Programmer. He uses specialized software, and we wanted to have a system that could drive that, as well as some high-end graphics for me. Well after the wait, and everything, the new PC is home today! The bad news, it doesn't look like I can pull any of the data I need from the old hard-drive…… I was able to get a couple files off before it started groaning. ALL my digital images, files for my business, clips, images (bought, free and altered) GONE. All my templates, instructions, ideas, tips and what not for classes, gone…..

I have learned some very valuable lessons. UPS battery back up! Imperative to keeping your hardware safe!

And to get in a good habit of backing up your data!!!!! While I do have some copies of some of the data, certainly not enough to recover the last several months…..

Surfing the internet will be new, as all my bookmarks, are gone too! So whoever came up with the ideas of blog roles, and listing those on your BLOGS, THANK YOU! At least that is stored somewhere!

I need to go to bed. I have a full day of attempting data recovery tomorrow before I have to return this really kewl little tool that will read the old drive. So I'll post and 'chat' soon as I finish installing my scanner, and make some files & pics!

Now, go back up your stuff!

Clay Time!

In the Creative Chaos group, Adrienne hosted a Mystery Challenge. We signed up without knowing what we were to work with, but that we would have most items on hand. Well, it ended up being a very kewl technique! Working with Polymer Clay (I used Kato), acrylic paints and textured stamps. Ok, got all that stuff! Adrienne provided great instructions, and seeing everyones work was a real inspiration! We could make anything we wanted out of our finished "Brocades". I chose to make a 'Wind Spinner'. Just a hanging lovely thing! I LOVED the technique, and the way my piece turned out. I made another to keep. Or maybe to give.... There were enough left over pieces to make several beads, and pieces for necklaces! I spent a whole day baking! Clay that is!
