The cake that is!

Now to cool. See you in 2 hours. Unless I put it outside and nothing bad happens! Like the dog gets it, or some giant icicle falls off the roof and impales itself into the cake shattering the pan..

If I put it out on the railing of the deck, it will no doubt try to end it's own life by leaping....

I have a backup mix. Just in case....

Cake balls....

So our Valentine's boy volunteered me to make the dreaded cake balls for his treat... some of you may remember the horror the last time I tried this. It wasn't pretty and left me scared.

So this time I bought a book all about cake pops.... you may want to stay tuned today. I'll post as this plays out. I'm just saying...

Step 1 is the baking of the cake. The boy chose a strawberry flavored mix and cheesecake pudding. The book said to make the cake wiith pudding so thats what I'm doing. So far so good.

This is the makings of an ATB. Istarted it knowing I wanted to use the birdcage die for a skirt on the torso and the large and lovely wing die by sizzix. It's going to be so much more as a friend asked if I'd be able to make an ATB for a silent auction for her nephew.  He has cancer and the bills are piling up. So "Hope" who was formed for no special reason other than to amuse me, now has a purpose!

Trying a phone app. Uploading a pic of a wine bottle scarf I crocheted and a glass charm I made using a BIGZ die and shrink plastic.

NEW winter product releases!

Well this is the 2nd most wonderful time of the year! The Winter Craft and Hobby show! CHA is the abbreviation. This is when companies and designers unveil the most releases of new products. And we can't WAIT to get our paws on them!!!!

Since some of these are absolutely NEW Products, the release is done over several months, beginning in February through June. I have release dates of the various Tim Holtz Alterations Die and Fades, Texture Fades, Idea-ology and the new Core'dinations paper ! Also Ranger is releasing some fabulous products, including Distress Ink Stains ($4.99 each) in 12 colors that coordinate with the Distress Ink line. For the first time, I am able to order in stamp sets from Wendy Vecchi at Studio 490!

New Class!

NEW CLASS! January 23rd! The ATC Pocketbook & folio!

I adapted the case size down from a design that would hold 4x6 envelopes & cards to ATC size!

The folio will be done using Core-Dinations cardstock, texture fades and some travel labels.

The book uses papers from Tim Holtz Paper Stack and is bound using the Bind It All!

The book has 8 pockets that will hold ATC's, Coupons, photos, small tags...

Couldn't you see this as a show case for coupons, special ATC's or pictures of your kids, grandkid, pets or ???

It's a fun project you'll want to do again! AND you get to work with some awesome products and tools!

More tags!

December sure flew by! HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! As I say this 7 days into the year! Let's hope this isn't the way it's going to go AGAIN.....

These I did during my 'tag kick' in December. Just have not had a chance to take pic's and post.

Many I gave away and didn't even get pictures of!

I just LOVE the Snowman die! And I loved this tag to too much to give away!

He's covered in Crackle paint. I used the L-Base tray & key hole die to cut the key hole out. Very cleaver invention BTW! the image is from Lisa's Altered Art. She has SUCH sweet images! I just love them.

The background is an Ink Staining technique that always has great results. The Silver snowflakes are from Jolee's Boutique. It was a strip garland I cut up. The round border thingy is covered with Krylon Silver leafing pen. It was some plastic piece from Laser tag guns our son got for Christmas. A bit of recycling!

Here's a cool trick I learned quite by accident. The metal garland at the bottom (and top of the next tag) gets more of a vintage look when you nail it with the heat gun!!!! CAREFUL! Don't want to fry it. Just gently curl the garland!

This tag using the Texture fade has such a cool effect, I just had to keep it! In real life, it has the classic shimmer from Rock Candy Stickles. If you're listening Ranger, would you please make that in a 2-5 fl oz jar? Bigger would be fine too!

I ran the Distress Ink across the Texture Fade before running it through the Vagabond. Then highlighted with more ink. Over the top is a light layer of Snow Cap paint Dabber. AND THEN, the Stickles!

I loved the effect so much, I did another tag using the Snowflake Texture Fade. Alas, it was mailed with no pictures....

And then there's the Gingerbread garland! Now can you see the fun you can have with these guys????? And Gals!

2010 Christmas Cards

I was bound & determined to use the L Letterpress to make this years holiday cards. I choose 2 styles. The Beautiful Tree, and snowflakes.

Snowflakes on the Happy Holidays card are blind de-bossed. There's a pearl over the O in holiday.

The Tree was done in silver ink, on a red shimmer paper, with a silver band that has black satin ribbon over it. I loved the way they turned out.

The tag was embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folders with a picture of our son I doctored up in Photoshop.
