Tag vintage german scraps

This is another one of those backgrounds that started off with as a WHOLE different idea...

Tag is embossed using the Retro Rays Texture Fade and inked with Festive Berries and Orange Persimmon Limited Edition Distress Inks.

I sprized my craft sheet with Solar Gold Radiant Rain, and dragged the embossed tag through the spritz puddles.

The Santa is some Vintage German Scrap bought at Artist and Display. They ahve a great selection, if your looking!

The music piece is die cut from the Banners Alterations Die, inked and coated with Multi-medium for support & a bit of shine.

I added a bottle brush tree and some berries at the top.

BELIEVE is stamped from Tim's Christmas Silhouettes stamp and cut out, inked and 'sparkle-ized' with some Martha glitter.

SO, just what do you get when you combine a bunch of great products???
The answer is: a really fun week of playing!!!!

On tags, I was challenged to work with stencils from The Crafter's Workshop, Distress Inks & Stains, Radiant Rain and Vintage Scraps....

Firstly, I HAVE to say using the words CHALLENGED and WORK, well lets just say I need a synonym. Or is that antonym? Better ask the 10 year old....
I loved it!!! I just couldn't stop. BUT the good thing, I'm getting into Christmas Holiday themes! I used Photoshop to create the word phrases for the bottom. YES I could have used a Microsoft program, but I REALLY need to practice more with PSE!

IF ONLY the shimmer of the Solar Gold showed as well...

Hey, guess what I did? Made my own 'tissue(less) tape'! Need to work on that....

Count down to Christmas is what I call this one. That would be the one up there. Above....

See the goldish-tanish one? With the brocade design. It looks almost embossed IRL. Tough to see in pictures.

I got wise this time. 

I'll wait for the laughter to subside.....

I actually wrote on the back of the tags, steps I took & colors!

No more relying on the ol' memory!

These 2 on the left are a 2 stepper. First you mist the tag. THEN using the ink & spray that's left on the stencil, you STAMP onto the 2nd tag! WHO woulda thunk?

And one of my favorite techniques, Vintage Photo. But this is done with a brocade twister!

If I tell you, I'd have to kill you....

I did this REALLY quick for my pal Gretchen. I usually make her a tag during the Holidays. BUT she and I both LOVE the new Vintage Lace Alterations Die from, you guessed it, Tim Holtz! Did I tell you I emailed him today? He rocks, because he emailed me back. And he answered my questions. He didn't blow me off OR treat me like a nut job! WHAT A GUY!!! So back to the tag. That's why you're here right?

Christmas Wall Hangings

I am lucky enough to work with Karen at Artist and Display for the 3rd year of teaching at Tosa Rec's Learning Never Ends on Tuesday, October 18th! We always try & come up with a different project and this year we are working with Alchohol Inks, Clayboard by Ampersand Art and German/Victorian Scraps. A WONDERFUL combination to play with I must say!

I used white Peel Offs by Magenta, and inked with Eggplant alcohol ink.

The snowflake stamps, are of course by Tim.

The Flakes around the outside are from Martha Stewart.

There's a FINE shimmer of glitter on the image. So pretty!

I softened the alcohol ink background with Pearl Metalic Mixitive.
