Newspaper boy "read all about it!"

This is such a cool design for a card. I've blogged the base design before. I made a card for T!M's birthday with it.

This card uses Stampers Anonymous Cling Mount Stamp sets from both T!M and Wendy Vecchi. Distress Stain, Archival Ink, Idea-ology, and my own doodling on paper! AND of course, the new Commute Tissue Tape! (I have to admit, I really got it bad for Washi/tissue tapes).

The base is 5.25" x 12".
Score the card at 2", 4", 8", 10"
This gives you the basic z fold of both the right & left panel

The "flags" for the front are cut from a 4" x 5.25" panel.
Using a large background stamp or design, you'll want to stamp the panel & do any coloring.
THEN cut it into three 4" x 1.75" "strips".

When the card is closed, as above, it appears as a normal card front. OK, normal is 'relative'...

I used pop dots to raise the boy up to add dimension.
AND PEEPS, don't do as I did and put one behind the boys head. That panel moves away from the middle panel... Just a little friendly advice...

See what I mean? This shows the card beginning to slide open...

Are you starting to see how cool this can be??

This is a top view, which will help you 'visualize' the double Z.

This a view of the left side. A strip/flag is attached to the top & bottom. On the right side of the card, the strip/flag is attached to the middle.

If you have questions, contact me. It's really a design that can be used in SO many different ways! A neat way to work with a large busy stamp, or like I did, collage a card!

Carl's birthday card

Today is my husbands birthday!
I made this card for him.

All the dies are t!m of course!

Cut with the pennant die. Letters from the Typeset strip die.

I used the new tiny gears as rims & a larger gear for the stealing wheel.

Artist BD Tag

A tag I made for a fellow artists birthday. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRIEND"!
All the of the stamps are Studio 490 by Wendy Vecchi with the exception of the ticket, which is a Tim Holtz.

It's a little late as I am a lazy mailer even though it was done earlier in the week.... My bad!

Hope she likes it!

The brushes were made to look grungy by adding glossy accents and heating it with my Heat Tool

I like dimension, so attached both the ticket & verse with a hump in the middle. Flat is for girls 12 and under...

I LOVE that flipping mason jar!
After stamping it with archival ink, I spread some multi medium on it with my handy finger tool. After it dried I inked over it with distress ink. The ink stayed where the paper showed through, giving the jar the look I wanted. Used dirty artist brush water. I used archival ink in the same color I stamped the jar in to edge it.

The paper tape finger is from 7Gypsies and the ruler tape is from Washi Wishes on Etsy.

"Chillaxin"

I love the Stampotique images!
Chillaxin', is a favoite!
She's stamped in Archival, and colored in using Pit Makers.
The background is "water-colored" with Distress Inks!
YES, you heard me right.

I used Washi Tapes on the layering piece blow.

The Umbrella & her eyes have Glossy Accents on them too.
See the cool STENCIL LETTER background?
New DYLUSION stencil letters! LOVE THIS!!!
AND, it goes perfectly with the Callavetti Washi tape!

The purse 'head' and shoes are 'highlighted' with Glossy Accents.
I know it's hard to tell.

So WHO is going to get this RARE card made by me?

Kitchen Kapers ATC

LOVE the way this ATC turned out using a vintage Jell-O AD and recepie card! The Jell-o mold (gross as it is) is coated with Glossy Accents to make it 'shine'. If only I could get the wiggle.....

If you know me, you know I DETEST Jell-O.
Everything about it is gross. EVEN as a Jell-O shot, with liquor in it, I just CAN'T!

But I do love the retro look of the AD.
In it's orignal form, it said "See what you can do in a minute"...
REALLY?
A Jell-O mold in 1 minute?
Vintage housewives were WAY better in the kitchen than I!

I, will stick to paper arts! I did make the 'dish towel'. I used a piece of copy paper, inked with Distres Stains, and painted the stripes with SMOOCH in red! NICE thin brush! Love it! Made up my own clothes line....
I even added real doily to the platter. Now, that's a fine Jell-O mould don't you think?

Chrissy's Suduko ATC

I stamped this lovely background with archival ink using 2 of the stamps from Tim's Mixed Media set (one of my favs)!

Round 2 of the suduko swap

Well this is really cool looking on the moire paper! I stamped with crimson archival, from Tim's AT THE MOVIES set. Thought it went great with the ticket border. Off to Miss Maggi Tuesday !

Stencils

You know I LOVE my Crafters Workshop stencils!

This is one of the new ones, Aspen trees!

I did some faux watercolor with my Distress re-inkers and Niji water brushes . I found it was easier to use the waterbrush to push the inks (lightly watered down) into the stencils than using ink blending foam & tools. I worked on Strathmores Mixed Media paper (SO AWESOME).

I used Vintage Photo first to add the bark. Then Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint and Fired Brick for the leaves. This was to have a 'fall' feeling to it.
